HOW WE SERVE

We're passionate about taking God's good news, in word and deed, to those desperate for hope in every segment of our broken world.  His written word, the Bible, compels us to serve Him and our neighbors.

  • PROJECT: ACTS 29

One Sunday each fall, we dismiss early and put our love into action by going to the Edgewater Winn-Dixie to buy groceries for local food pantries and baby items for Grace House Pregnancy Resource Center.  This year, 467 local families were blessed with a holiday turkey, and total purchases of $28,000 stocked our community food pantries.

  • OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Every year we pack shoe boxes for needy children around the world and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with them.

  • GOOD NEWS CLUB

EAC sponsors a Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) Good News Club after-school program at Edgewater Public Elementary one afternoon a week. Trained teachers tell the children about Jesus and disciple them in the Word of God through Bible lessons, songs, Scripture memorization, and other activities.

  • FOOD PACKAGING

We partner with Kids Against Hunger to prepare and package meals on a Sunday morning for the world's hungry.

  • HOT MEAL PROGRAM

The third Friday of every month, EAC's volunteers prepare and serve a free hot lunch at First United Methodist Church of New Smyrna Beach for those in need.  We also offer a free hot supper one Sunday evening a month at Edgewater United Methodist Church.

MISSIONS

Our world is in desperate need of good news.  As followers of Christ, we've been commissioned

to make disciples who take the gospel to every man, woman, and child because He is not willing

that any should perish.  EAC, as part of the Alliance family, is committed to care for the spiritual and physical needs of people in our community and throughout the world.  The international workers we support are strategically placed in parts of the world that are ripe for a great spiritual awakening.

EAC partners with the international workers in Mali, West Africa.  Our focus is the ministry in Bamako (the Roedding's) and Koutiala (Women and Children's Hospital, the Wegner's, J. Tillett).  Teams of EAC students and adults travel to Detroit throughout the year to bring Christ's message of hope to inner-city children and families in a variety of ways.  Our students also transition between local mission trips and serving with WYAM Orlando.  We partner with several Alliance missionaries around the world - Allen Sowers of Foundation for Missions in Honduras and Missionary Ventures in Peru - sending teams to help wherever needed.

"For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed Me, I was naked and you gave Me clothing.  I was sick, and you cared for Me.  I was in prison and you visited me.  Then these righteous ones will reply, 'Lord, when did we ever see You hungry and feed You?  Or thirsty and give You something to drink?  Or a stranger and show You hospitality?  Or naked and give You clothing?  When did we ever see You sick or in prison and visit You?'  And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you did it to Me.'"
